Overview
This training will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to perform various high risk tasks necessary for licensing in the construction industry. You can gain skills in operating a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes, 60 tonnes, 100 tonnes and over 100 tonnes) and/or a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity).
This training achieves units of competency from the Transport and Logistics Training Package (TLI).

Additional Information
Students will be issued with a training log book on registration for the purpose of recording training received on site and formal training at CIT. Notification will be given to registered students when formal classes are scheduled. There will be opportunity to attend classes during the day and/or evenings.
On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for a high risk licence in the ACT. This licence is issued by Access Canberra, not CIT.

Entry Requirements
You must:
Be physically fit and able to work at heights
AND
Be at least 18 years of age - this is a requirement in the ACT for licensing of Persons Performing High Risk Work
AND
Have access to an appropriate workplace with the required equipment - part of the assessment requirements for this course is an industry logbook. Teaching staff can give advice as to what workplaces are appropriate
AND
Have the English language skills to effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area and to read and comprehend manufacturer's instructions and workplace procedures and safety signs. Students must also be able to apply mathematical procedures for the estimation and measurement of loads. These skills will be checked prior to enrolment.
To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

- but does not include vehicle tow trucks.
