Overview

This program applies to those undertaking pre-vocational programs or entering the workforce who, while possibly responsible for routine surveying or spatial information services (SSIS) activity, would be under close supervision. The qualification is suitable for VET in Schools programs and an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply

You must be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10. Early in your program your skills will be checked - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the program.

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

    • We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program.       Description: This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

The unit also covers participating in spatial data gathering activities, including recording data in the correct format and using equipment in a safe manner.
