Surveying and Spatial Information
Want to work with leading edge technology? Like dynamic and challenging work?
Spatial sciences are at the heart of Australia's expanding development.
Stay ahead of the game with a qualification in surveying or spatial information.
Everything happens somewhere. Spatial information and surveying is about location, and understanding, measuring and modelling. Location is fundamental to government, development, the environment and business.
There are people who work every day collecting, analysing and presenting spatial information, which may be outdoors, using sophisticated instruments to find out where features are located.
They call on satellite constellations and use lasers to measure location. Others use these measurements to model and map their relationship to one another, and how location may impact on people.
A CIT course in spatial information or surveying will give you the skills you need to work in this dynamic industry. Work with the latest in technology including GPS, Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) equipment and specialist Geographic Information Systems (GIS) computer software, and gain valuable hands-on experience with industry-based placements.
