Evaluation of Security Documents Trainers

This training is delivered by John McGinn and Tonya Trubshoe, CIT casual teachers and qualified Forensic Document Examiners with diverse experience in both the government and private sectors.

John McGinn

John has extensive practical experience in the field of forensic document examination acquired over 28 years during employment with the Western Australian Police Force, the Australian Immigration Department, and the private consultancy company Document Examination Solutions. He regularly tenders evidence as a document examination expert witness in Australian courts.

In addition to his examination experience, he has been responsible for the development of award winning training products and multi-lateral international workshops related to the examination of documents.

Recent experience has seen the development of training workshops and other products for government and non-government agencies both domestically and internationally.

Tonya Trubshoe

Tonya is a trusted international Forensic Document Examiner, experienced in the application of document examination techniques and the development of related training. She has conducted and published research on the impact of context effects on document examination and related training methods.

She has held positions within the Australian Immigration Department and the Queensland Police Service, in addition to her current consultancy role within Document Examination Solutions and position as lead document examination subject matter expert at Canberra Institute of Technology.

Tonya has completed a diplomatic posting, as a Forensic Document Examiner, on behalf of the Australian government.  As a result she has worked extensively throughout South East Asia, with a strong focus on the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
