This training will provide you the skills and knowledge required for the safe removal of friable asbestos containing material (ACM). This includes preparing, enclosing and removing ACM as well as the knowledge of the decontamination and disposal requirements.

Additional Information
Occupational licenses are required nationally for the removal of friable asbestos containing material (ACM). All work must be completed according to relevant legislative, industry, customer and organizational requirements, including work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Regulatory mechanisms apply to this unit. CIT does not provide licensing. Candidates are advised to check for regulatory requirements in the state or territory they work.
Skills Recognition
Entry Requirements
You must have CPCCOHS1001A - Work safely in the construction industry or equivalent prior to enrolling into this course.
If you do not have this prerequisite you can achieve it by enrolling in CIT White Card Training
AND
You must be at least 18 years of age.
Language Literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessments may be conducted prior to program commencement.
To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with a lower level program, or enrol in the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (FSK20119) to develop your literacy skills.
