Pathway (profile) 1: ASbA - 18 months part-time as part of an approved ASbA course. Over this time, weekly attendance in the workplace will be complemented by one day per week of study with CIT - this means a typical week for a student completing this ASbA would consist of: 3 days per week at their school; 1 day per week study with CIT in the Certificate III Allied Health Assistance course; and 1 day per week in their work placement location linked to their ASbA.

Pathway (profile) 2: Standard (non ASbA) - 12 months, consisting of 1 semester full-time coursework study; plus a 2 week placement to be scheduled in the semester following coursework completion.

Additional Information

This course has a mandatory work placement (minimum 80 hours in total). CIT teachers will arrange all placements (including doing this in conjunction with Group Training Organisations as relevant as part of the ASbA course).

Before undertaking any industry placement, you must:
- have a National Police check;
- have a 'Working with Vulnerable People Check';
- provide evidence of required vaccinations.

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
