Subject costs identified as Standard are partially subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible students.
Costs identified as Apprentice or Trainee apply only to students studying as part of an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement. The qualification cost for an Apprentice or Trainee is subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible Apprentices or Trainees.
Costs identified as Full Fee receive no government subsidy. Concessions are not available.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply
You must have:
- skills, experience and vocational competence in an industry/field in which you can train and assess others.
Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
- access to a real or simulated work environment to demonstrate assessment competency.
For internal CIT teacher education programs, nominations must be endorsed by the relevant Head of Department.
To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with the lower level program. TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
CIT Code: TRNG340 Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan the assessment process, including recognition of prior learning (RPL), in a competency-based assessment system. It applies to individuals with assessment planning responsibilities. In planning activities and processes, individuals are required to identify the components of assessment tools, analyse and interpret assessment tools, and develop assessment instruments (also known as assessment tasks) and assessment plans. TAEASS402 Assess competence
CIT Code: TRNG341 Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement an assessment plan, and gather quality evidence to assess the competence of a candidate using compliant assessment tools.
It applies to teachers, trainers and assessors in enterprises and registered training organisations (RTOs) and those providing assessment advisory services.
TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation
CIT Code: TRNG342 Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to participate in an assessment validation process.
It applies to assessors and workplace supervisors with assessment validation responsibilities participating in, but not necessarily leading, the process.
TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction
CIT Code: TRNG372 Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct individual and group instruction, demonstrate work skills and assess the success of training and one’s own training performance, using existing learning resources in a safe and comfortable learning environment. It emphasises the training as being driven by the work process and context, and applies to a person working under supervision as a work skill instructor in a wide range of settings not restricted to training organisations.
