Robert Wiedijk - English Language
I have been teaching at CIT since 2015 and I love sharing time with so many motivated and inspiring students. The many various student backgrounds and life experiences can make each day in the classroom seem like a journey around the world (without the costs, visas and travel queues).
I completed a MA, Dip Ed, and Graduate Certificate in TESOL, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which led me to my passion, English language. I was previously a high school English teacher and an IT systems trainer, copy and production editor and technical writer. I now teach Certificate III in Written and Spoken English 10364NAT at CIT, which involves listening and reading alike.
I am currently developing resources for 'Comprehending and Conducting Presentations' as part of a Certificate III in Written and Spoken English 10364NAT, which is a new teaching unit for me. I have some online personal development planned to start shortly from the British Council through FutureLearn – 'Teaching for Success: Lessons and Teaching'.
This job is extremely rewarding, seeing students excel and grasp their learned knowledge, which is the reason I chose this teaching pathway as a career.
