Tharin Nindet
Certificate III in English Language Skills
Tharin comes from a town called Phare, in the north of Thailand. He found out about CIT through a friend and has not looked back since signing up to study English and Media.
"Canberra is a great place to study. The people are friendly and always willing to help you. I have made heaps of friends from all around the world: Peru, Colombia, Korea, India, China and Brazil."
Canberra, the capital of Australia is set inland from the coast and sits about 600 meters above sea level. It has a population of only 334,000 the city has everything and more that you need.
"Canberra is a lovely quiet city. It is a great city to study in because there are no big distractions allowing me to concentrate on my work. Sydney is only 2.5 hours drive away making it easy to drive or catch the bus for the weekend. I am catching the bus to Sydney this weekend to visit friends."
The urban areas of Canberra are organised into districts, town centres, group centres and local suburbs. There are seven districts, each of which is divided into smaller suburbs, and most of which have a town centre which is the focus of commercial and social activities.
"There are shopping centres in all areas and each centre has everything you need. They are never too busy. I live in Chifley and my shopping centre Woden, is fantastic."
When Tharin was asked to sum up his thoughts on Canberra and CIT he said three words,
"FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC!"
