Kate Waghorn
Advanced Diploma of Spatial Information Surveying
After spending a large part of her child hood in Australia, at nine years of age Kate moved back to the UK to live. Kate has now seized the opportunity to move back to Australia to further her studies. Having lived in London for the past 8 years Kate knew that Canberra would suit her better than the larger cities of Australia.
"I wanted to move to a city where I would feel more at home."
CIT is a great place to study no matter what your age. Kate says that she has found it very comfortable studying here at CIT as a mature age student. "I would never have been able to do this in England as in England VET is available mainly to young people."
"At CIT the staff have been very supportive. I never thought I would be doing maths again but with the help of the staff I am back doing Maths without any struggle."
Canberra is a vibrant city with a more relaxed atmosphere than many larger cities in Australia making it a great place to study. "I love Canberra. It's the right size, the right vibe and it just works for me. The city has four distinct seasons and there is plenty of space. It's just different from the young people focus of London."
