When I called about the fitness course I was thinking I was just too old but I decided to enrol anyway. The first day of class I was surprised I was not the only mature age student. I have now met many people who are involved in the fitness industry that are not the stereotypical fitness person.
The Diploma of Fitness allows me to work with the older population and those who have special illness or mobility issues. With our ageing population and rehabilitation a growing concern in the community, fitness is not just for people who spend hours on a treadmill.
I am interested in encouraging people to address their health issues through fitness rather than just popping a pill.
