Kelly Zyle

I started off at the flexible learning centre in Tuggeranong as this suited my lifestyle. I have a young family and the demands of regular classes and a certain pace was not for me. Once I got into the swing of it and my confidence grew I took on other subjects and I became more and more interested in ICT. I don’t have an ICT background but the course really showed me how what I was learning could be directly applied.

Starting an accelerated apprenticeship at the Department of Health and Ageing boosted my confidence even more. After being awarded best academic performance for the first semester in applications development I knew I was on the right track.

I believe ICT can offer a lot to women especially those wanting to enter the Public Service. I would recommend the course and an accelerated apprenticeship to anyone wanting practical skills especially at a senior level of the Australian Public Service.
