For 22 years I had been working with children in circus skills and gymnastics but wanted to further my career while still working with children. When I was applying for positions I found that a formal qualification was always requested.
Working with children gives me the opportunity to work with a variety of cultures and personalities. I am especially interested in forming better relationships between industry professionals and parents.
I decided to enrol in the Diploma of Children Services at CIT as this was also a great pathway into university. After beginning the Diploma at CIT, I found many of the students were mature age and from international backgrounds making me feel more comfortable in the classroom.
The teachers have been very supportive throughout my studies and are very understanding when life intervenes.
Working in childcare gives me the opportunity to help people from all backgrounds and to contribute to the community.
