Euna Ji

Korea is a long way from Australia, but Euna Ji's family wanted her to have the experience of travel and with cousins in Canberra, it was the perfect location. Euna is glad her family supported her to come to Australia straight after graduating in Korea. "I would recommend everyone go overseas," she said. "It is a good experience to visit and learn about different cultures and styles of living."

Euna chose the CIT Certificate III in Design Fundamentals to study full time while she was here. "The CIT offered shorter six month courses that suited my time frame. Other international students come and they work and maybe do an English course, but if they did a short course like this they could learn a lot of different things."

Euna also chose the course because she loves art. "It is exciting to create," she comments. "With this course I got to learn to do things like drawing and art, and interpret the work of others as well. I really enjoyed using my hands to create things."

Her art is vivid and colourful, and represents aspects of her personality. Her portraits include one of herself in traditional Korean clothing, while another is more whimsical, showing her as shy, active and her love of fish!

"The CIT course has been a good experience. I have met lots of different people."
