What better way to spend your life than surrounded by jonquils, tulips and roses, or with Australian natives such as banksias and kangaroo paw.
This is how CIT student Emma Stewart spends her time, working in an industry she loves while at the same studying towards her Certificate III in Floristry.
Emma’s love of gardening and the creative side of floristry saw her change career paths from horticulture after getting work experience at a studio and then being offered a job in a Florist. She says, “ultimately I would like to own my own business and run a successful Florist. The more experience, the better though, so I am planning to do a business course next year and the go on with the advanced Floristry Certificate IV.
CIT appealed to Emma because of the courses available, costs and the practical side of learning. She says, “studying at CIT fits in with my work, the teachers are always helpful and the campus is near where I live.”
With Emma’s motivation and love of floristry she looks set for a great future.
