Chris Hetherington
Chris Hetherington hails from Canberra College, where he tried a range of different courses before discovering accounting. "Accounting just jumped out at me. It was something I liked doing, plus there are lots of career paths," says Chris.
Once graduated from college, Chris looked to CIT to continue his study with the Advanced Diploma of Accounting. "I didn't want to go to university straight away because I wanted to earn money as well as study. I knew it would be harder to do that at uni."
In his first year of the course, Chris has so far enjoyed the computing classes. "I find computers enjoyable and I can see that I'll really use that knowledge in a job situation."
Once he graduates from the Advanced Diploma, Chris will explore his many options. "I'll be able to join the National Institute of Accountants and that will help me get a job. I may go on to study at uni, but I'll also be looking to get some work in the public service or taxation."
