Andrew Black
Andrew Black researched extensively before choosing CIT for his Media Production course. "I looked at uni and TAFE NSW but saw CIT's course and it covered all the areas I thought I would enjoy."
He has always wanted to get into the television industry but is more interested in being behind the camera. "Calling the shots on live TV is what I really want to do," he says, although he adds "I don't want to direct films - too much pressure!"
At CIT Media Production students work on various projects in their two years, including working for live clients such as crew for the Stateline program, and a web TV show for the Raiders website. "Everyone gets experience in all the roles - sound, camera, editing film and producing. It is great to have a live client because it puts pressure on us to make sure it's a quality project."
CIT's practical, hands on approach was the clincher for Andrew and he hopes to move into the industry in Canberra or Sydney with plenty of great experience on his resume.
