This qualification achieves one or more national units of competency from the Construction, Plumbing and Services Integrated Framework (CPC08)

Summary:The program is designed to give participants an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work successfully in the plumbing industry.
Delivery Mode:1 semester part-time (approx. 8 hours per week off-the-job and up to 80 hours practical experience in CIT’s purpose built workplace equivalent workshops or in an actual workplace)
Job Opportunities:Apprentice plumber, plumber’s assistant, trades assistant
Entry Requirements:  Students must be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10. Early in the program these skills will be checked – if any participants cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level required, they will be enrolled into additional subjects to help them build the skills needed to successfully complete the program
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  You will need to provide protective clothing and equipment suitable for working in a plumbing workshop including full-length overalls, safety footwear, personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, welding goggles, welding gloves and hearing protection.
If you gain employment as an apprentice plumber, you will receive recognition towards the Certificate III in Plumbing for all study undertaken in this program.
