Summary:This program provides entry level training in painting and decorating and is tailored towards school students who have an interest in entering the construction industry. The program will support the basic skills and techniques used in the painting and decorating trade. Upon successful completion students will be eligible to gain recognition for the competencies from the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

Entry Requirements:  You must:
- be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 9 (early in your program your skills will be checked - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the program)
You may:
- need to attend an interview to demonstrate suitability for the program including: literacy and numeracy; physical fitness and ability for undertake physically demanding work; motivation and attitude towards general construction work; and initiative and potential for general construction work.
Additional Information:  You need appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for working on a construction site and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and dust masks.
