Summary:This program prepares you to work in a variety of health settings, including mental health, aged care, and hospitals. Upon successful completion of this qualification, you may apply to the ACT Nursing and Midwifery Board to be considered for registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
Delivery Mode:3 semesters full-time (approx. 20 hours per week) OR part-time equivalent.
Job Opportunities:Work as an Enrolled Nurse after registration with the ACT Nursing and Midwifery Board.
Entry Requirements:  You must have:
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, with sound communication skills and leadership potential. Evidence may include written testimonials, education portfolios, work or personal references.
AND either
- An ACT Year 12 certificate (or equivalent) with at least a C grade in tertiary English and in accredited maths
OR
- Successfully completed the CIT literacy and numeracy test or equivalent (eg NSW College of Nursing literacy and numeracy test)

2. You may be asked to attend an interview where you will be required to discuss the course entry requirements and present documentation as listed above

Offer of a place
Offers of a place will be made to those who meet the entry requirements in the order of receipt of applications until all places are filled. Applicants will be notified of outcome by letter.

At course commencement you must be able to obtain:
- A police check - complete disclosure (Code 13)
- A letter from a General Practitioner confirming fitness to work as a nurse
- Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination/immunity and
- A current Senior First Aid Certificate (achieves National Unit of Competency HLTFA301B Apply first aid)

Additional Information:  Clinical experience will be provided in areas such as: Acute Care, Aged Care, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Community Nursing and Palliative Care. Before any clinical placements can commence, you will have to provide: a Doctor's certificate (to say you are fit to work as a nurse); evidence of commencement of Hepatitis B immunisation; a Senior First Aid Certificate valid for the duration of the program and a completed police check.
A materials fee of $185 applies to this program.
