Summary:This program may be your first step towards further education and training. You may use this program as a starting point on your pathway to vocational training, employment, Year 10 or Year 12, pre-tertiary programs or to involvement in community or work related activities.
Delivery Mode:Part-time sessions; variable hours
Job Opportunities:Entry to vocational and further education or general employment
Entry Requirements:  You must be able to demonstrate literacy and/or numeracy competence at ESF level 1* (or equivalent).

Entry skills for the Certificate I may be achieved through successful completion of the Training Program in Learning Options.

Additional Information:  * For literacy, examples of entry skills are:
- read simple, familiar information
- write simple sentences
- communicate simple messages clearly, verbally and in writing
- use basic punctuation
- discuss immediate learning goals
For numeracy, examples of entry skills are:
- read and calculate with whole numbers and money
- use basic metric measurements
- identify basic shapes
- discuss immediate learning goals

This program will help you to improve your reading, writing and mathematics; prepare for further study; develop skills for the workplace; develop basic computing skills and build self confidence.
