Summary:These programs are aimed at developing literacy and numeracy skills for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. The programs focus on a different aspect e.g. Health and Information Technology. These programs give you an opportunity to study in a cultural environment with Indigenous teachers and support staff.
Delivery Mode:Part-time sessions; variable hours
Job Opportunities:Entry to vocational and further education or general employment
Entry Requirements:  For entry into the Training Program in Learning Options for Indigenous Australians, learners must independently demonstrate at interview the ability to:
- write own name and address
- explain orally reasons for doing the program
- interpret common community signs
- recognise coins and notes and relate their value to items to buy
- use an effective counting technique
- work effectively in a small group

For entry into the Certificate I in Learning Options for Indigenous Australians, learners must demonstrate literacy and/or numeracy competence at ESF 1 (or equivalent) level. These may be achieved through successful completion of the Training Program in Learning Options for Indigenous Australians.

For entry into the Certificate II in Learning Options for Indigenous Australians, learners must demonstrate literacy and/or numeracy competence at ESF 2 (or equivalent) level. These may be achieved by the successful completion of the Certificate I in Learning Options for Indigenous Australians.
