Summary:This program provides you with the skills to competently work as a pathology technician in diagnostic pathology and research laboratories. You will be skilled in all key areas including clinical chemistry, microbiology, haematology, histology and molecular biology. You will study in a simulated workplace laboratory onsite and will also have the opportunity for work placement.
Delivery Mode:4 semesters full-time (approx. 20 hours per week) OR part-time equivalent
Job Opportunities:Diploma: Technical officer in biological laboratory and field work, medical laboratory technician in public or private pathology laboratory
Entry Requirements:  You must:
- have an ACT Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent) with at least a C Grade average in science, mathematics, computing and English
OR
- be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge equivalent to Year 12 science, mathematics, computing and English.
Applicants without the required science, mathematics, computing and English are recommended to first complete the Training Program in Introductory Applied Science.
