Summary:This program is set up to facilitate the delivery of high risk construction industry competencies to school students as part of an agreement between CIT and various colleges delivering the Certificate II in Construction Pathways. CIT will deliver the Training Program in High Risk Construction Procedures which will provide partial completion towards the Certificate II in Construction Pathways.
Program currently under review—changes may occur
Delivery Mode:Part-time 8 weeks (approx 4 hours per week) plus college component
Job Opportunities:Facilitates entry into Construction Industry apprenticeship (fast track). Relevant competencies recognised in Certificate II in Construction Pathways and Certificate III Apprenticeship programs in the construction industry.
Entry Requirements:  You must be enrolled in the Certificate II in Construction Pathways in a college participating in the CIT/Colleges agreement.
Additional Information:  You are required to provide and wear clothing appropriate for a construction work site and use appropriate personal safety equipment including Workcover approved safety footwear.
Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (SAC 2006) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Credit Transfer:  Units of competency transfers to various Certificate III Building and Construction programs
