Summary:In this program you will gain the skills and knowledge to be employed as a hairdresser working as part of a team in a hairdressing environment, competent in communicating in the workplace, consulting with clients, recommending products and services, and designing and applying a broad range of technical hairdressing services on clients. You will possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement is required and you are responsible for your own outputs.
Delivery Mode:One day a week for four semesters in the classroom, on-line and in a salon environment for an apprentice. If undertaking this program as a non-apprentice, delivery is three days per week for four semesters in the classroom with additional online and workplace components.

Entry Requirements:  You must
have an ACT Year 10 Certificate or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.

If you are entering this program as a Trainee or Apprentice under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment

If you do not meet these requirements you might be eligible to enrol in Certificate II in Hairdressing.
Additional Information:  You must purchase your own hairdressing tools and equipment prior to commencement of your off-the-job training at CIT. In addition to a uniform, students are required to wear professional attire to all classes, including closed toe shoes.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Credit Transfer:  Some units in this program can count towards the Certificate IV in Hairdressing
