with early exit at Certificate IV in Design (CUV40303)
This qualification achieves units of competency from the CUV03 Visual Arts Craft and Design Training Package and the BSB01 Business Services Training Package

Summary:The Advanced Diploma program is designed to develop the conceptual and work skills required to hold a position in a graphic design illustration, publishing or advertising studio. It is a full time program, based on assignments, visits and deadlines to replicate the working environment. Work placements are encouraged and supported through to the local industry.
Delivery Mode:4 semesters full-time (approx. 25 hours per week including project time)
Job Opportunities:Professional graphic design practitioners in the areas of graphics, multimedia, electronic publishing, pre press, illustration, advertising or film and television
Entry Requirements:  You must:
- possess an ACT Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent, including any international equivalent) OR be Mature Age (turn at least 20 in first year of study)
AND
- present a portfolio and written statement at interview (or other negotiated process) which demonstrates your:
- drawing/imaging and design skills (conventional and electronic)
- creativity and conceptual skills
- motivation and enthusiasm towards completing the program successfully
- potential aptitude for design work in chosen areas of study
- understanding and knowledge of the role of designer in chosen area of study
- relevant work experience
- organisational and presentation skills
- current qualifications
- ability to commit to a full-time study load.

Entry Process:
1. Submit your application.
2. Attend an interview (or other negotiated process) where you will be asked to:
- submit your academic results, resume and references
- present a written statement, giving reasons and other supporting evidence for studying in the chosen field. This statement is to be prepared before coming to the interview where you will be able to expand on your suitability for selection into the program.
- present a portfolio of recent design work where the opportunity will be given to discuss or review the work. The portfolio should include a signed declaration that the work presented in the portfolio is your original work or from acknowledged source material.
- demonstrate your potential to complete the program successfully and achieve the standards required for employment in the design industry.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1
Additional Information:  You may elect to extend your studies to complete specialist subjects and to graduate with the Advanced Diploma of Design (Digital Media) as a second qualification. Other second qualification specialist pathways may be negotiated.
Credit Transfer:  The Advanced Diploma provides credit into:
University of Canberra
- Bachelor of Graphic Design.
Charles Sturt University
Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design).
