Summary:This Certificate II is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this Certificate II allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery and shop fitting as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.
Delivery Mode:12 weeks full-time (approx. 24 hours per week)
Job Opportunities:increased opportunity to obtain an Apprenticeship with an employer in the construction industry
Entry Requirements:  You must:
- be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10 (early in your program your skills will be checked - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the program).

You will need to attend an interview to demonstrate your suitability for the program including: literacy and numeracy and capability for physically demanding work.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
