This program achieves units of competencies from the Automotive Industry, Retail and Repair Training Package (AUR05)

Summary:This program is for you if you wish to obtain an apprenticeship or traineeship in automotive but do not have an employer. It covers the basic skills needed by motor mechanics such as using and maintaining tools, testing, servicing and replacing batteries and inspecting and servicing engines, suspension systems and steering systems.
Delivery Mode:1 semester full-time (approx. 20 hours per week) OR part-time equivalent
Job Opportunities:Entry to further study and employment opportunities in the automotive industry.
Entry Requirements:  You must - be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10. Early in the program these skills will be checked and any student who cannot read and write documents, and complete maths work to the level needed, will be enrolled in additional subjects to help build the skills you need.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  You will need to purchase the following work safety equipment - protective breathing equipment (PBE), eye and ear protection and suitable footwear (work boots).
