These qualifications achieve units of competency from the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05 v2.3)

Summary:These programs provide an opportunity for qualified automotive tradespersons to learn about the latest developments in the service and repair of electrical systems and engine management systems.
Delivery Mode:Training Program in Automotive Electrical Fundamentals (Post Trade):
18 weeks part-time (approx. 3 hours per week)
Training Program in Charging, Starting and Ignition Systems (Post Trade):
18 weeks part-time (approx. 3 hours per week) plus 4 morning sessions (approx. 4 hours per session)
Training Program in Electronic Management Systems (Post Trade):
18 weeks part-time (approx. 3 hours per week) plus 4 morning sessions (approx. 4 hours per session)
OR part-time equivalent.
Job Opportunities:Qualified motor mechanic positions where skills in automotive electrics are required
Entry Requirements:  Training Program in Automotive Electrical Fundamentals (Post Trade)
You must:
- be an automotive mechanic with a Certificate III qualification in the field of Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Automotive Electrical or hold an Automotive Mechanical Tradesman's licence.
Training Program in Charging, Starting and Ignition Systems (Post Trade) and
Training Program in Electronic Management Systems (Post Trade)
You must:
- be an automotive mechanic with a Certificate III qualification in the field of Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Automotive Electrical OR hold an Automotive Mechanical Tradesman's licence
AND
- have successfully completed the Training Program in Automotive Electrical Fundamentals (Post Trade) or equivalent competencies.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  You will need to purchase the following work safety equipment - protective breathing equipment (PBE), eye and ear protection and suitable footwear (work boots).
