Summary:

This program will give you training involved in the operation of a small business in the companion animal industry. On completion of this program, you will be able to supervise and assign a range of work tasks in a companion retail store, grooming service, animal welfare/training organisation and breeding service.

Delivery Mode:

1 semester full-time (approx. 18 hours per week) OR part-time equivalent

Job Opportunities:

Job roles and titles covered by this qualification may include; pet shop/aquarium manager, companion animal trainer/behaviourist, companion animal breeder, companion animal groomer, boarding kennel or cattery manager, animal shelter supervisor/manager, pet minding and exercise operator, mobile hydro-bathing operator.

Entry Requirements:

You must
- have completed the Certificate III in Companion Animal Studies OR be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge.

Availability:

Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2

Additional Information:

You will be required to wear suitable protective clothing when dealing with animals and in the laboratory.
