| Summary: | This program is designed to provide an entry point into the animal care industry. You will study areas relating to the care and welfare of animals including some practical work with animals on campus. You will be required to attend at least 15 hours of work placement at CIT animal care facility. This program provides flexibility for learners to progress to achieving a related Certificate III level qualification or the option to achieve a lower level qualification with additional study. | |||

| Entry Requirements: | You must - be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 9 or Year 10. Early in the program these skills will be checked and students who have difficulty reading and writing documents, and completing maths work to the level required, will be enrolled in additional subjects to help build the skills needed to successfully complete the program. | |||

| Additional Information: | This training program provides you with pathways into related Certificate level qualifications. Successful completion of this program will give you entry with credit into the Certificate III in Companion Animal Services ACM30410. Students who have completed this program and have access to a veterinary practice (at least 2 days per week) can apply (with credit) into the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing ACM40410. This Training Program will also give you credit into the Certificate II in Animal Studies ACM20110. You will be required to wear suitable protective clothing when dealing with animals and in the laboratory. | |||
