| Summary: | This program will give you training in the immediate care for rescued native wildlife and rehabilitating animals to ensure successful release into their natural environment. You will gain the skills and knowledge to monitor the general health and wellbeing of young animals including basic care for mammals. |
| Delivery Mode: | 1 semester part-time (approx. 12 hours per week) |
| Job Opportunities: | Work opportunities as paid and voluntary animal keepers or carers working in animal shelters or parks. |
| Entry Requirements: | You must
- be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10. Early in the program these skills will be checked and students who have difficulty reading and writing documents, and completing maths work to the level required, will be enrolled in additional subjects to help build the skills needed to successfully complete the program. |
| Availability: | Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2 |
| Additional Information: | To obtain a carer’s licence participants will need to be affiliated with one of the carer organisations such as Wildcare, WIRES, or RSPCA. |
