Qualification:Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (HLT42507) with early exit at Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (HLT32407)

Summary:You will gain the skills to provide therapeutic and program related support to allied health professionals. Under supervision of an allied health professional you will conduct therapeutic and program related activities in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, podiatry and/or speech pathology.
Delivery Mode:2 semesters full-time (approx. 20 hours per week) OR part-time equivalent

Entry Requirements:  You must:
- have an ACT Year 12 or equivalent with a minimum C grade in English
AND
- be able to communicate effectively
AND
- be at least 18 years old in the first year of study
AND
- be able to demonstrate maturity and experience to cope with the academic and professional requirements of the program
AND
- have the ability to fulfil the physical requirements of the job, for example lifting and other manual handling tasks.
AND
- demonstrate speech pronunciation that does not impede understanding by the client and other health workers.
If you are entering this program as a Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1
Additional Information:  BEFORE undertaking any practicum experience you will be required to provide: a completed police check; a Doctor's certificate (to say you are fit to undertake manual handling); evidence of commencement of full immunisation. You will be required to purchase a uniform of a CIT polo shirt and black long pants with appropriate footwear, to be worn on clinical placement, and equipment including text books to the value of approximately $250. An additional materials fee of $25 applies to this program.
