Air Conditioning (Split Systems) - Certificate II

Qualification:Certificate II in Air-conditioning Split Systems (UEE20107)
This qualification meets the requirements of the Electrotechnology Training Package (UEE07)

Summary:This program provides training that will enable you to install spilt air conditioning systems. The qualification meets the federal government's Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 2003 regulations for the Restricted Split Air Conditioning Installation and Decommissioning Refrigerant Handling Licence.
Delivery Mode:4 semesters part-time (approx. 7 hours over two evenings per week)
Job Opportunities:Spilt System Air Conditioning Installation Technician for single head indoor units, up to 18kW capacity
Entry Requirements:  You must:
- be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10. Early in the program your skills will be checked - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help build the skills needed to successfully complete the program
AND
- be working in the refrigeration/air conditioning industry or obtain a job in the industry within six months of starting the program
AND
- have a workplace supervisor to assist in the delivery and assessment of several subjects in the workplace.

If you are entering this program as a Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment.
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  Purchase of Personal Protection Equipment, resource books, text books and basic refrigeration hand tools will be your responsibility for use when undertaking practical and/or theory components of the program.

Students will need to apply for (at their own cost) a National Refrigerant Handling Licence (trainee licence) before being permitted to undertake any practical work involving refrigerants in the program.
