Aged Care - Certificate III

This qualification meet the requirements of the Community Services Training Package (CHC08)

Summary:This program will enable new and existing aged care workers to broaden their skills base and knowledge, to increase employability and inform all levels of work in both residential aged care and community based facilities. The Certificate III in Home and Community Care and the Certificate III in Aged Care Work, have been designed to run concurrently so that both Certificates can be completed in one year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent)
Delivery Mode:You will receive an individual study plan depending on your work experience and previous studies. For example, you may be required to attend for 1 semester (approximately 20 hours per week), participate in work placements and online learning activities.
Job Opportunities:Assistant in nursing, support worker, personal carer, care worker, carer, nursing assistant, respite worker
Entry Requirements:  You must have:
Year 10 Certificate or equivalent or a Certificate II in an area of community service work

Applicants may be interviewed to demonstrate interest in working with older people in a residential setting

If you are entering this program as a Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment
Availability:Student intake offered in Semester 1 and Semester 2
Additional Information:  Before undertaking any practicum experience you will be required to undertake a police check and have a senior first aid certificate. You may need to purchase some text books and resources. A materials fee may be attached to some subjects/units of competency.
