The skills and knowledge achieved in this qualification are designed to enable you to manage teams and staff within the metals and engineering industry, write reports and supervise welding inspections.
This qualification meets the requirements of the Metal and Engineering Training Package (MEM05)

Additional Information

There are specific licensing/regulatory requirements - industry or professional pertaining to the metals profession, students must have completed the Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade and achieved the advanced units of welding that have been chosen for this qualification.

You are expected to supply all of your own personal protective equipment and a USB memory stick to save resources on that will be available at the start of each program.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply

You must:
- have a Certificate III qualification in one of the following: Metals, Engineering, Automotive, Refrigeration or Electrical trades, or
- have worked in the industry for at least 5 yrs full-time or equivalent. If you have met this time frame and have the work experience you may apply for recognition.

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. See below to check your literacy skills. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with the lower level program.
