The Advanced Diploma of Government (Procurement and Contracting) is designed for people who are responsible for the management of strategic procurement in public sector organisations. It is expected that participants on the program will be experienced public sector practitioners who are capable of independent and self-directed work. It is also likely that participants will have some supervisory responsibilities that involve supporting others in their work.

This qualification has been designed to allow for flexibility in the choice of elective units to reflect the responsibilities of the individual and the job skills required.

Duration: The program will be delivered, where possible, through an integrated and holistic approach.  A range of methodologies will be utilised including:

Face to Face class based learning sessions, with a period between sessions to allow time for completion of assessments required by the following session

- virtual classroom supported by 1:1 tutorial support
- completing group and individual exercise activities
- completing the required assessment activities and loading on eLearn
- workplace learning and mentoring
- structured on-the-job application
- third party confirmation of performance
- participation in an assessment interview with the program facilitator to confirm learners understanding of key concepts of Procurement and Contract Management

Delivery methodologies will also depend on the location of learners - local or interstate. Structured on-the-job application will involve completing a sequence of group and individual learning activities that will contribute towards skills development, enhancing underpinning knowledge and demonstrating required application in the workplace.

Related employability skills and attributes will be developed alongside elements of competencies in an integrated manner that reflects workplace practices and outcomes.
Likely Job Outcome: Administrative Services Officer Level 6 to Executive Level 2 in the public sector, or equivalent under individual agency agreements.

Entry Requirements for the Advanced Diploma of Government (Procurement and Contracting) and Training Program in Strategic Procurement Management and Training Program in Strategic Contract Management

Students must:
- be currently working in the public sector
- have capacity for independent self-directed work and have access to specific work practices and work based procurement projects
- have procurement and contracting competencies from the Diploma of Government (Procurement and Contracting) PSP52510 qualification OR be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge.

Before you apply/enrol

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This includes new students and re-enrolling students.

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program.
