I studied the Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English - Further Studies at CIT. I enrolled to improve my academic English proficiency and get the required score in the academic English version of the IELTS test to apply for a university place in Australia, after migrating six months earlier.

One of the highlights of this course was that it was very practical and covered listening, speaking, reading and writing. I could apply all the knowledge with my classmates and lecturers, at home and in assignments.

Lecturers also provided us with a lot of printed material and websites for future reference. Now that I am at university, I use those tools very often.

I successfully completed the course and received a good score in the academic IELTS test and have so far completed the first semester of the Master of Design at the University of NSW, including a core subject in academic English. Putting into practice the skills I learnt at CIT helped me obtain great marks in that core subject of my master's degree.

I love coming up with new ideas and plans. I started my program by exploring graphic communication, now I'm looking forward to my subjects in participatory design and design for social innovation.

The Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English - Further Studies at CIT gave me the confidence and motivation to be persistent in my settlement process in Australia. This course can open endless opportunities if one works consistently to make those opportunities become reality.
