Live venue

CIT Music and Sound Production students work regularly on public events and concerts in the CIT Music Industry Centre live venue. The venue is also used for filming live concert footage, including film shoots for videos. Features include:

  • large performance stage with stage lighting
  • Digidesign Venue, MIDAS Legend and Sienna sound consoles
  • bio-box for live audio recording
  • 2 large screens
  • 500 person capacity.

Two recording studios

The CIT Music Industry Centre features two professional recording studios for teaching and student use on projects including EP and album recordings. Features include:

  • ProTools 10 HD
  • Digidesign D-Command and Digidesign C24 control surface
  • Genelec monitor speakers
  • Focusrite microphone preamps
  • API microphone preamp
  • several adjoining studio floors with full acoustic treatments.

Mac lab

The CIT Music Industry Centre features a Mac computer lab featuring 18 individual workstations for classes and study, including a range of music production software. Each workstation includes:

  • Mac Pro
  • Pro Tools 11
  • Ableton Live 9
  • Sibelius 7.5
  • Logic Pro, Auralia and Musition software.

Electronica lab

CIT Music Electronica students have access to a well-equipped electronica lab featuring a variety of software, synths and controllers. Features include:

  • Ableton Live 9
  • Pro Tools 11
  • Akai controllers
  • Korg Monotribes
  • Akai MPC 2000XL
  • Nord synthesisers.

Additional equipment

CIT Music and Sound Production students have access to a variety of professional media equipment for practice and project use, including:

  • a large range of professional microphones for studio recording and live sound
  • guitar and bass amps, drum kits, pianos and keyboards from reputable brands
  • portable field recording and location sound kits.
