Overview

In this program you will learn how to provide creative and technical solutions for complex residential, commercial and institutional design environments including facilities for people with disabilities, the aged, and adaptive re-use projects. It will provide you with an awareness of interior space planning and an in-depth understanding of the design process, supported by theoretical knowledge of construction and human factors.

You will study different techniques of design communication and the use of computer-aided design and documentation, and develop an appreciation of design culture through historical and theoretical perspectives. You will also explore the changing nature of design trends, including the preference for eco-friendly materials and the significance of sustainability.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply

You must have
- an ACT Year 12 Certificate or equivalent,
OR
- be mature-age with a demonstrated interest in the field (this may include workplace or other practical experience).

If you already have a Certificate IV in Interior Decoration or a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration or are able to demonstrate equivalent skills and experience you can begin at either the Diploma or the Advanced Diploma level. A skills recognition process will apply.
