MICFest - November 2012

Heavy metal guitarist, vocalist and music student Jerry Lightening performs at MICfestMICfest is a student music festival and showcase held each November at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Music Industry Centre (MIC), Woden. This event launches emerging CIT student musicians from the MIC into the community and industry at large.

The festival is planned and run by current music, media production, journalism, public relations and digital communication students of CIT. MICfest is a celebration of student creativity and reflects the hard work and commitment of the CIT students.

"MICfest is an opportunity for the students to put into practice skills gained through studying at CIT. It is also an innovative way to assess our students and to showcase the talents of our young artists, producers, venue operators, filmmakers and marketers to industry and the community", says Communication, Media and Music Education Manager, Mr John Frohlich.

Gig goers, students and the general public are welcome and encouraged to attend and enjoy the usual event offerings of a cash bar, food and plenty of open spaces to enjoy and interact with the performances.
