Would you like to study a language?

We can offer you Certificates I to II in:

• Chinese (Mandarin)
• French
• Japanese
• Spanish

And

• Statement of Attainment in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language)
• Diploma in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Lanuguage)

The four macro-skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be taught and your proficiency in each of these skills will be assessed.

Our programs are practical and vocational rather than recreational and are taught by highly experienced and qualified teachers, most of whom are native speakers.
(Note: Learning another language is a big commitment and takes time and effort beyond the face to face classes!)

Classes

All classes are held in the evening at the Reid Campus. Most classes meet twice a week from 5.30 or 6.00pm to 8.00 or 8.30pm. Certificate 1 and 2 in French and Certificate 1 and 2 in Spanish are one semester units. All other programs are full year units (34 weeks).

• French and Spanish - Wednesday 1 February, 4.30 - 6.30pm, J Block, Reid
• Japanese and Mandarin - Thursday 2 February, 4.30-6.30, J Block, Reid
• AUSLAN - Monday 6 February, 4.30 - 6pm. J Block, Reid

AUSLAN

Introductory Auslan: Mon/Wed 5.30 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $250 (per semester)
Diploma in Auslan: Mon/Wed 5.30 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $250 (per semester)

FRENCH

French Cert I: Mon/Wed, 6 to 8pm. Cost: approximately $260 (1 semester)
French Cert II: Mon/ Wed, 6 to 8pm. Cost: approximately $260 (Semester 2)

MANDARIN

Mandarin Cert I: Mon/Wed, 6 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $450 (1 year)
Mandarin Cert II: Tues/Thurs, 6 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $450 (1 year)

JAPANESE

Japanese Cert I: Mon/Wed, 6 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $450 (1 year)
Japanese Cert II: Tues/Thurs, 6 to 8.30pm. Cost: approximately $450 (1 year)

SPANISH

Spanish Cert I: Mon/Wed, 6 to 8pm. Cost: approximately $260 (1 semester)
Spanish Cert II: Mon/Wed, 6.00 to 8.00pm. Cost: approximately $260 (Semester 2)
