ESL - English for Employment and Study
All our English classes provide:

- Online and computer-based learning.
Students are placed into a class according to their language level and learning needs.
At each level students will develop a range of skills for communicating in English, appropriate to their English level.
Courses Offered
- Certificate 1 in English for Employment, Study & Life
- Certificate 2 in English for Employment, Study & Life
- Certificate 3 in English for Employment, Study & Life
- Certificate 4 in English for Employment, Study & Life
- Certificate 4 in Spoken and Written English (Further Studies)
- Certificate 4 in English Language Skills
These courses provide students with the English language and communication skills they need for further study in Australia or to enter the workforce, as well as for general day to day interactions in the community.
When and Where?
Full-time Classes
Full time Classes are held at CIT Reid. Class attendance is 14 hours per week, usually 4 mornings per week, plus 2 hours of flexible study using Study Centre or online resources. There are two 18-week semesters per year, commencing in February and July.
At each level students will develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as orientation to Australian culture and workplace expectations.
Part-time Classes
Part-time classes are held in the evenings at CIT Reid. Class attendance is 5 hours per week, plus 2 hours of flexible study using Study Centre or online resources. Currently, class times are:
- Tuesdays - 5.45pm to 8.15pm (NB: These times are subject to change)
- Thursdays - 5.45pm to 8.15pm (NB: These times are subject to change)
Part time day classes in Certificate 1 and 2 are available at CIT Gungahlin at the following times:
- Monday and Wednesdays 9:30am to 1:30pm (NB: These times are subject to change)
