"Linking people and business"

The Human Resources Centre provides services and support to link the management of people to CIT business direction by:

• negotiating the employment framework 
• developing and revising policies which affect staff and their working conditions 
• liaising with centre management teams to provide specialist human resources advice and services 
• encouraging a preventive approach to workplace safety and managing injured staff
• analysing workforce trends and assisting centres in managing the people implications of these trends
• supporting Centres with performance management 
• brokering of professional development opportunities
• processing of all casual teacher contracts/variations for payment through Shared Services 
• providing advice and assistance to Centres in relation to Recruitment, Payroll and HR processes and procedures - including new casual teachers 
• providing support and advice in relation to HR21

Specialist areas

Employment Relations: responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and improving the work environment through quality of work life and productivity programs.

Workforce Planning and Consulting: responsible for developing workforce planning tools and liaising with Centres to ensure that future workforce demands are predicted, known and communicated and that strategies are put in place to attract and retain skilled and valuable staff.

Professional and Organisational Development: responsible for brokering access to effective professional development programs which build organisational capability.

Recruitment Team: responsible for the processing of all casual teacher pay contracts and/or class variations for all teaching staff.  Provide assistance to all Centres in relation to all recruitment actions and liaise with Shared Services on behalf of CIT.
